PPW Motorcars is pleased to offer this beautiful 1972 Mercedes-Benz 350SL, which was exquisitely ordered in Dark Red (Dunklerot 542G) with a beautiful and Brand New Top Quality German Canvas GAHH Black soft top over a powdery, supple, and Stunning Parchment MB-Tex Interior! Being one of a few produced world-wide in 1972 and the only one we have come across in Dark Red over Parchment interior, it is our opinion that this is the best possible combination that could have rolled off the factory floor! As gentleman’s car, this is one of the few that was ordered in classic, rare, and elegant colors. The stunning and timeless colors are both period correct and still fashionable today whether it be a trip to the country club or long drive to the country home.

What makes this vehicle truly worth owning is the level of detail and hand assembled craftsmanship that is present in no automobile currently produced. This magnificent motorcar was produced in an era when owning a Mercedes-Benz meant something significant. There was no such thing as a $299 a month lease on a new C-Class; ownership was reserved for just a select few. This vehicle was one of the most expensive and best overall vehicles available during its time; it combined the road holding ability of a sports car with the opulent appointments of the finest luxury cars. This was a vehicle for the most discerning individual to whom sacrificing any virtue of the vehicle for the sake of another was unacceptable.

As an early and European specification car, this has all of the power of the early cars (225HP vs 160HP in the later cars), best and most reliable A/C, and all vintage touches only the earliest cars had. Most important is the condition of the underside, which is nothing short of excellent. The floors and suspension are magnificent, there are no drips or drops, and things like engine mounts, subframe bushings, and beyond are all zero mile fresh! Further, to ensure that this vehicle is ready to be enjoyed today it just underwent a large service and is ready to be enjoyed today! During the service we changed the oil/filter, spark plugs, air filter, serviced the A/C, Converted to r134a, installed new tires, replaced engine mounts, subframe mounts, transmission mount, spark plug wires, belts, coolant flush, brake fluid flush, many suspension bushings, sway bar end links, valve cover gaskets, a timing chain replacement, and Much More. More so, the cosmetic condition of this car is above reproach. From the nearly flawless paint (and we would say flawless but won’t ever describe any car as flawless under any circumstance, but this is as good as any R107 out there, restored or not), to the trim (which was replaced with the repaint), to the brand new German canvas GAHH soft top, soft top seals, all body seals, along with a Stunning interior right down to smaller details. There is not a better early example available anywhere, at any price. Offered for the true collector, investor, or enthusiast who understands and appreciates the investment potential of this extremely rare, low mile, top of the line, magnificently restored both mechanically and cosmetically, and first production year of this exceptional Mercedes-Benz 350SL! This is easily one of if not the best early body style 107’s available anywhere, at any price! Bid with confidence-you will not be disappointed in this truly amazing motorcar!
